Tips for using the site

This site is organised around various themes, which present information on Rijkswaterstaat, national highways and waterways. You can find more information about the organisation under the heading ‘About us’.

You can access the information on this site in a number of ways:

•via the theme headings at the top of the homepage;
•via the dozens of links on the homepage;
•via the site map (the site map under the ‘search’ field shows the site’s headings and subheadings at a glance);
•via the search function (the search engine scans the available pages and documents for the terms you enter);
•via the ‘breadcrumb trail’ (this feature, which can be found at the top of the page, shows you where you are on the site. To return to pages you have already visited, simply click on the relevant link).

Technical specifications

The Rijkswaterstaat site has been designed for a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 and can be viewed with virtually any browser. Text files are presented in PDF format. A PDF (Portable Document Format) is a file type that can be read and printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
